Integra Fortified Seed chooses the best trait and genetic components for each crop and region, and then fortifies every seed with Manifest™, a unique treatment system that improves seedling development. The only fortified seed on the market, Integra’s hybrids and varieties start with the best trait technologies around—names like Roundup Ready®, YieldGard®, Clearfield®, and coming this fall, Roundup Ready® 2 Yield, Monsanto’s newest soybean technology.
“Growers want seed that produces healthy, thriving crops and profitable yields,” said Troy Johnson, national director of seed and technology for Wilbur-Ellis Company, owner of Integra Seed. “Integra goes beyond this key objective by fortifying each seed with the patented Manifest Treatment System, a key differentiator in the seed industry.”
Manifest offers a unique form of protection from yield-robbing stress and diseases and gives Integra seed improved plant stand and vigor, increased rate of canopy closure and improved uptake of nutrients.
“First, Integra assembles advanced trait technologies with superior, locally selected genetics that perform in a grower’s particular soil type and growing environment,” explained Johnson. “And then we apply a customized Manifest seed treatment that combines patented technology with distinctive and naturally occurring plant extracts considered essential for normal plant growth and development. The formula varies by seed type and is complemented by other carefully selected and proven components.”
Integra Seed has added several new corn hybrids and soybean varieties for the 2009 season.
New Soybean Varieties
Integra added 17 new soybean varieties for 2009 including the following for the northern region:
• 79004-R: .04 maturity has fantastic yield for its maturity, even out-yielding all early varieties in northern trials. It also has excellent iron deficiency chlorosis ratings.
• 97009-R: at .09 maturity has high yield potential and excellent emergence and standability. It also has a good defensive package with tolerance to Phytophthora root rot, brown stem rot and Sclerotinia white mold.
• 79020-R: features outstanding iron deficiency chlorosis and brown stem rot ratings and excellent yields with a maturity of .20.
• 79140-RN: has a 1.40 relative maturity, very good yields and extremely good cyst protection. It also has excellent iron deficiency chlorosis tolerance and Phtophthora root rot resistance.
• 79260-RN: at 2.60 maturity is a good choice for early planting and no-till because of its excellent emergence. It exhibits exceptional stress tolerance and very good protection against sudden death syndrome.
New Corn Hybrids
Following are Integra’s new hybrids for the northern growing region:
• 9332-R: 83 day maturity hybrid has impressive yields with excellent yield to moisture ratio. With medium plant and ear height, it also has high drought tolerance and staygreen ratings.
• 9422-VT3: 93 day maturity hybrid is available with YieldGuardTM VT Triple and is widely adapted with strong yield performance. It has tall plant height and flowers early for its maturity.
• 9453-VT3: A 95 days to maturity with YieldGuardTM VT Triple has high-end yield potential in a solid performing hybrid. It flowers early for its maturity, has excellent ear girth with desirable drydown, and medium plant and ear height.
• 9470-VT3: 97 days to maturity, this hybrid has very good emergence and seedling growth, great yield potential and very good root, stalk and test weight.
• 9472 R / VT3: With a relative maturity at 97 days, this performance-driven hybrid with outstanding yield potential has very good roots and stalks and a solid overall disease resistance with very good staygreen.
• 9521 VT3: A 102 day maturity, this hybrid is widely adapted across a broad range of environments. It has a very good disease package and good ratings for root and stalk strength.
